“Le Case del Principe Alliata” is a country estate deep in the lush greenery of the Taormina countryside, like a hidden gem. It is surrounded by a beautiful Mediterranean garden overlooking a large lemon grove and the olive trees of the surrounding hills. The view of the Etna volcano completes the picture, making the country house the place of your dreams! A real oasis of peace and relax, plunged in the greenery and flowers, ideal to escape from the stress of work or city life. In spring, in particular, the orange and lemon trees blossom, release a unique and irresistible scent in the air. The two swimming pools, which are part of the property, are for exclusive use of the guests, who can swim and sunbathe on the sunbeds located in the solarium or on the lawn next to the vineyard.
The country house consists of an elegant main villa and 4 exclusive dependances, which are close to the villa but independent one from the other. The main villa has its own swimming pool and a beautiful garden, for exclusive use of the guests, where there is a large gazebo to have meals or simply stay alfresco while admiring the volcano. The 4 dependances share a second large swimming pool, which is surrounded by an amazing exclusive garden dominated by flowers of all kinds and palm trees. Guests have the choice to rent part of the country house (the main villa or one or more of the dependances) or the entire country house. Privacy between the houses is guaranteed in any case. When the entire property is rented, as in the case of larger groups, the sliding gates, which are normally kept closed to separate the main villa from the other smaller annexes, are left open for the guests to roam freely within the property, taking advantage of both the swimming pools and the surrounding gardens.
The property is particularly suitable for lovers of the countryside. However, it is also very close to the sea (2 km), to the centre of Taormina (7 km) and to the small village of Trappitello (1km) for daily shopping, where you can find grocery stores, a fishmonger and a pharmacy. The nearest airport is the airport of Catania (distant about 60 km by motorway). The location is strategic to visit Eastern Sicily and is also ideal for families and group holidays, to celebrate weddings or special occasions together.

Why choose "Le case del Principe Alliata"?
“We had a reunion, 24 people. LE CASE DEL PRINCIPE offers exceptional facilities. Located on a huge private estate, but close enough to the vilage and the sea. About 45 min drive from the Catania airport. Swimming pool, gardens, playing areas. All villas nicely decorated. Special thanks to Monica and Maria.”
“I recently got married in Taormina and we stayed here with a couple family members and friends. The property is gorgeous and well kept in a beautiful setting. Monica and Maria were amazing! They have an option to add a home cooked meal and it is definitely worth it. Maria is an incredible cook. Monica was so helpful, patient and attentive. One of our guests accidentally dislocated his shoulder and she was right there to help us get the medical attention he needed. I cannot recommend this place enough. Thank you all so much for a beautiful and unforgettable stay!”
“Nestled among grape vines and fruit trees, Le Case del Principe is a relaxing oasis just below Taormina, near the sea with soaring views of Etna. The rooms are immaculate, lovingly decorated in the local style and the food is out of this world. It’s one of those places where time seems to stand still and let’s you reconnect with yourself and nature.”
Gabriele Alliata 16th Prince of Villafranca was born in Palermo on November 3rd 1955.
He started to follow his father on his visits to the family estates in Sicily since he was a child.
He used to spend summer holidays in their estate nearby Taormina. Those stays were unforgettable: outdoor life, bicycle rides to reach school, quiet evenings with the family. A time of great peacefulness.
In 1978 he got his law degree. Then a series of wanderings followed: first he worked in a bank in Naples for 2 years, then he came back in Sicily, but the time was not ripe for a permanent move yet. Between half of the Eighties he started working in the insurance field, first in Rome, then between Milan and London.
Finally he decided to move back to Sicily and decided to restucture the old farmstead in the estate of Taormina and worked very hard to create the farmhouse “Le case del principe Alliata”.
